I Believe ~~
The wondrous works of Mighty God
are past our mortal understanding.
The Holy Spirit quickened John the Baptist as yet unborn and while within her womb His mother bore Him,
to know and greet His Lord; and tho' He could not speak that Name, by all adored, He stirred and leapt in salutation the while Elizabeth, with Mary standing by, observed the miracle, in hushed and whispered wonder. If ye, O faithful ones, because the flesh is weak,
from duty oftentimes are turning, yet if your hearts with love for Him are burning then God will give you strength to speak, and courage to proclaim your obligation, yea, heartily, with love and adoration. from Bach's Cantata for the Feast of the Visitation of Mary
When the people of the future write the story of our times, they will ponder how it could have happened in the land of "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness" that the lives of so many tiny innocents were ended before they could draw the first breath that was their due. Life is sacred. Life is God's mysterious gift and warrants our highest regard and respect. Women are endowed as partners with God in the creation of life. Abortion has become an abominable ritual that negates a woman's most glorious role and debases human life. Abortion is an act of violence against women and against the unborn. The little bodies of the unborn are gruesomely destroyed without any anesthesia, although it is documented that they are more sensitive to pain than are fully born humans. The innocents are as irreverently discarded as the daily rubbish. Millions of woman, abandoned by their families and loved ones during their time of need, make the unnatural, tragic choice of abortion. How can a civilized people endure this?
Since 1973, when abortion on demand became legal in our country, 40 million truly innocents have lost their right to life at the hands of those who, by nature and by calling, should have been their protectors. Such a number! Forty-million lost lives. Forty-million silent screams. There is a bloody stain upon our souls. Children, who escape such a gruesome fate, grow up knowing they live in a land where the killing of inconvenient or imperfect babies is celebrated. Many of our politicians cannot win election until they proclaim their support for abortion, euphemistically known as Choice, as those who embrace such a gruesome choice, dare not use its gruesome name. Although we demand various protections for sundry groups of people, places, animals, we seem unconcerned to protect the most vulnerable of all humanity -- the unborn. Nature demands they receive that most basic human right, the right to life.~~Edna Barney, 2003
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away ~~Revelations 21:4
The so-called right to abortion has pitted mothers against their children and women against men. It has portrayed the greatest of gifts -- a child -- as a competitor, an intrusion, and an inconvenience. --Mother Theresa
